Law Firm Trainer (LFT-COL-LK)

LAW FIRM TRAINER

We are assisting our client, a large multi-office law firm headquartered in Columbia, SC, with the recruitment of a Firm Trainer. This position provides professional training of the firm’s employees and reports to the Service Desk Manager.  The individual will support a user base of more than 400 employees, currently in nine offices located in the Carolinas.

The ideal individual should possess a Bachelor’s degree in a related major, five or more years corporate training experience, ideally within a law firm environment, expert-level knowledge of Microsoft Windows 10 and all components of Office 2016 is a must; a positive attitude, as well as an above-average technical aptitude.  Previous experience and in-depth knowledge of one or more document management solutions is critical.

 

This person will perform Firm-wide training for on-boarding new employees, new application software rollouts, and will conduct assessments for training needs by survey, interview, participant evaluation or general observation and plan, coordinate, schedule and present regular courses for employees to refresh or improve their skills (with the goal of increasing employee productivity and performance) including reservation of appropriate training facility and requisite hardware.  This position will work in conjunction with the current Service Desk Manager and is expected to support and enhance the infusion of business policies, best practice procedures, business software applications and technology tools into a comprehensive instruction set.  Training and support may be conducted via phone, webinar, video conference, email, or in person.  Successful ramping of the steep learning curve associated with our core software applications is critical.  A desire and ability to learn new skills quickly will also be important.

 

The qualified candidate will possess the following attributes: self-starter, articulate, impeccable customer service skills including timely and thorough follow-up; ability to communicate technical information to a variety of users in non-technical, clear, concise terms; exceptional oral and written communication in a professional environment; availability for as much as 25-33% travel among the firm’s nine offices, after or before regular business hours; fast learner; organized; ability to develop, enhance and deliver training to a diverse audience; upbeat; high energy level; multi-tasker; adherence to, enforcement and communication of Firm policies relating to technology use.

 

 

PC Desktop Knowledge:

Windows 10 & Internet Explorer 11 – Certification Ideal

Office 2016 – Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint – Certifications Ideal

PC Power User:

able to install, configure & troubleshoot Windows 10 operating system;

set-up & troubleshoot network printer/scanner issues;

install, configure & troubleshoot MS Internet Explorer Browser

VPN remote access usage

VNC or other Remote Control software usage

 

Business Software Applications Knowledge:

Filesite or other document management software

MacPac or other document formatting tools

BigHand or other dictation tools

HotDocs or other electronic document creation tools

Elite or Aderant or other finance, time & billing software
